The staff and students at Sequoia participate in the Renaissance Program, a national program to further enhance and support the District's motto, "High Expectations - High Achievement".

The Renaissance Program is really a concept and an attitude. Each year Sequoia has a different theme that serves as our logo for the program. It is a comprehensive program of "neat ideas" that, in its entirety, can have a tremendous impact on student achievement. Simply stated, RENAISSANCE is a recognition and incentive program with three major goals:

1. To focus on and emphasize academics, academic excellence, and citizenship.
2. To recognize and reward student achievement and citizenship.
3. To recognize and reward staff achievement.

The Renaissance Program awards students for meeting Sequoia’s high student expectations. Each eligible student will be issued a special Renaissance level after each trimester based on the following criteria:

• Gold Card: All A's or all E's in citizenship• Silver Card: All A's, B's, E's and S's in citizenship• Bronze Card: All A’s, B’s, C’s, E’s and/or S’s

Each student that qualifies for the Renaissance Program will receive a Renaissance t-shirt. Students are encouraged to wear their shirts every Wednesday. The second and fourth Wednesdays are designated Renaissance activity days. There are also specific celebrations calendared throughout the year.
