A Few Words from Our Principal
I feel fortunate to join the Lang Ranch family. The school holds a long tradition of unsurpassed excellence with credit to the fine staff, students and community. In addition, I recognize the leadership of the school’s founding principal, Mr. Brad Baker, who led the school for thirteen years to a place of prominence and renown. In 2008, the school was recognized by the state as a California Distinguished School.
Lang Ranch, also known as “The Ranch”, is recognized as a local and state leader not only in the area of academic achievement, but also in many other areas. The Ranch delivers a well-rounded educational program to students that includes a strong emphasis upon the Visual and Performing Arts, Physical Education, Wellness and Technology within the school day, as well as numerous after-school enrichment activities. In total, the school prides itself in providing a balanced educational program that focuses upon the whole child.
Lang Ranch is a true community school with families taking an active role within the school. Fifty percent of the parent population works at the school at least one time per week, and over 17,000 volunteer hours are put in each year by parents! An active and supportive PTA contributes money and time to the Ranch each year and also organizes numerous family activities, events and festivals, such as a Spectacular Jog-a-thon, Talent Show and Reflections Night!
The Ranch holds many traditions close to its heart. Among them is the founding principle of Learn, Laugh and Lead. Mr. Baker’s school leadership emphasized the importance of these three elements within the school community, and they still figure prominently in the life of the school. Lang’s balanced approach to education that incorporates fun into learning is creating the leaders of tomorrow.
